McMillan Cell Phone Policy

In an effort to minimize instructional distractions, students in grades 3 through 5 will be required to place their cell phones in a non-locking, signal blocking pouch. Students will then place their phones in a pocket chart at the front of the room labeled with each student's name and will be in constant view of the student and teacher. In the event of an emergency, students will be able to access their phones. If a student refuses to place their phone in the pouch, the phone will be immediately confiscated by the teacher and turned over to an administrator. The parent/guardian will be required to meet with an administrator to retrieve the phone.

Students in grades Kindergarten through 2nd grade will be required to keep their cell phones in the OFF position and in their backpacks during instructional time (9:00 am-3:11 pm). If a student refuses to keep their phone in the off position and in their backpack, the phone will be immediately confiscated by the teacher and turned over to an administrator.  The parent/guardian will be required to meet with an administrator to retrieve the phone.
